“Combe House Hotel” showing the water wheel, a man feeding chickens, a simple horse cart and stacks of prepared timber. In pencil on the back of the photo is written “9 am (summer time) July 2nd 1920 H S Thompson photo”. It is believed that Mr (probably) Thompson was almost certainly a guest at the hotel and sent them a copy of the photograph after he had returned home. Apparently this was not an unusual occurrence.
