About this project

Quantock Views is a digital archive of photographs, paintings, and other images capturing the beauty and character of the Quantock Hills.

Each year, countless original images of the Quantocks are inherited by people from across the globe. As a result, many of these visual records become difficult to trace and are effectively lost to the local community. Quantock Views was created to preserve and share these images, ensuring they remain accessible to all. This archive is owned and managed by Quantock Hills National Landscape. It was built and is being maintained by volunteers, with contributions from individuals within the Quantock Hills community and beyond. Every image is carefully scanned and uploaded, helping to grow a rich and diverse visual history of the area.

Contributing to Quantock Views

If you or someone you know owns pictures of the Quantock Hills, even if the landscape only appears in the background, please consider contributing to the archive.

You can get in touch with Quantock Hills National Landscape team to donate images or share information.

We also welcome any additional details about the images already in the archive.

If you’re interested in volunteering or supporting the project in any way, we’d love to hear from you.

Copyright

Quantock Hills National Landscape does not own the copyright of the images in the Quantock Views picture archive. Although many of the images may be out of copyright, we have made a commitment to make every reasonable effort to contact any likely copyright owner in order to seek permission to use images for the purposes of the archive.
